I am often surprised by how hot it is outside lately, people tell me that it never stopped however, I did spend 11 months indoors when Florida was at it's peak of heat. Never the less, living Florida tends to have it's perks and I plan to fully enjoy them. One of my favorite are the BEACHES ! Here, in the Bay Area we are surrounded by a variety of beaches all within a drives reach.

I have made my trip out there with friends, family, and sometimes for "Mommy & Me Mondays" with my son. At first, my frequent trips began with "Senior skip day," does anyone else celebrate these days, or is it just a Florida thing ? Either way, I would find myself over packing because I never knew where my day would lead me. Al though, I can arguable say that the list can be far more in depth then what you are about to read, my biggest piece of advice is to know; who are you going with and where are you going after ?

I'll be honest, I personally cannot rock the natural, I know this and I accept it and I also chose to do everything in my power to make myself feel beautiful at all times. Therefor, knowing things like "who I am going with" can make a huge difference in the top 5 things you chose to take with you on the sand. My next piece of advice; pack a separate bag that you keep in the car. That way your load is much lighter and you're able to enjoy some vitamin sea.

1.SPF

Never in my life has this been so important to me like it is now ! The sun is gettin

g more and more powerful and I can feel the burn every time that I step out. Please keep yourself protected every way possible. SPF can be found in a variety of beauty product but my top two for the beach are a sunblock and a lip balm with and SPF that blocks both UVB & UVA rays. Here's a helpful link to learn about the types of SPF's out there, and what it means to chose one of higher or lower value.

2.Hydration

Not going to lie, I do enjoy throwing back some on a super hot day but no matter how many bottles i down, I ALWAYS PACK A BOTTLE OF WATER. Not only are they super expensive at the beach, but it's highly necessary when you're out there taking that kind of heat. Believe me when I say it'll keep you feeling your best even when that 6 pack is all gone.

3. Sunnies

Remember when I said I can't rock the natural ? well these bad boys come in and give me that touch of fabulousness that I was missing. Wether or not you wear eye makeup, sunglasses will not only cover what lies behind them, but also protect your sensitive vision for when you lay in the sand or splash around in the water. The only advice I have, is to find the cheapest pair that matches your swimsuit and stick to them ! Once, I almost lost my Chanel's in the chaos of the waves. Thankfully I found them immediately !

4. Cellphone.

Bring this at your own risk, however, aside from pictures and status updates it does have other perks. Anything from checking the time, to checking the weather, your phone can keep you connected to the world with just a click away.

5. Hair accesories.

I know, I am a hairstylist and it took me to the end of the list to finally recommend something for your hair. First off let me state this; PLEASE WAIT UNTIL 48 HRS FROM YOUR COLOR SERVICE TO GET IN THE WATER. Then, if you worry about your color fading or it just getting damaged The Pureology Color Fanatic 21 benefits is a great product to protect your lovely locks. More over, if your hair and sea salt don't become bestie, that is okay ! Bring another bestie to the beach like a hair tie to secure your braid or top knots, and my personal favorite, a hat ! If you are waiting for the day that you leave the beach looking like Alexis Ren you'll be waiting a long time. Do yourself a favor and aid in your out coming by properly packing up.
