I love scrolling through social media and coming across cool new things. I am a proud internet shopper, but it could be a double edge sword as sometimes it's a hit or miss. You could really make out with a great product or .... you could find yourself talking to customer service trying to return your whole package....

When I first started planning out my trip to New York I came across some cool pages that I saved to check out while I was out there. Asides from the trip, I like to screenshot food, places and things I want to try. So when I found out that the Glossier Showroom was in NYC, I cleared my cart online and I planned my trip out there >>>>

As soon as I hopped off the subway on Canal Street, I turned left on Lafayette (this use to be my favorite name for my first son) and there it was ! A multi-story, brick building with a flag waving "Glossier." As we got closer a mirror marquee invited us in, as did a friendly doorman.

Once in the elevator, I looked over the control panel and my eyes fell on the Penthouse button, which is where you press to reach the Glossier Showroom.

This was my first time at a flagship store.... of any kind, and the set up was different from a regular brand's store. The space was wide open, colors of bright white and pale pink with posters of soft, natural looking women. Glossier staff are dressed in pale pink jumpsuits too; they're ready to meet you, and answer every question. From color matching, to explaining each and every item. As I strolled around I saw rows set up with products, out for guest to try out for themselves. I came ready with a list & since I was able feel something's out beforehand, I was able make a better choice with my selection. Once I was ready to check out, the woman handed me an order list which I took over to a pick up counter.

After our day out in the city, we made our way back to our apartment, in Harlem. I stripped down, and hopped into my PJs for a quick try out of all my new goodies. I ended up picking up the Phase 1 kit which included a Balm Dotcom of my choice, I picked Coconuts, a Milky jelly Cleanser and a priming Moisturizer. Along with the Super Glow serum and Wowder. Call me crazy, but I've been exposed to all types of cleansing systems and by now I'm pretty sure on whether a products will work well with my skin simply based on the texture. Phase 1 nailed it in its first use. The milky cleanser was
exactly what it sounds like; a lightweight formula that is perfect for removing left over makeup and gentle enough for the eyes (haven't tried waterproof makeup.)
Next was the priming moisturizer which is dual action, as the name describes. Moisturizing enough to hydrate your skin and improve the outlast of your makeup. I did not wear makeup after I applied it, but in combination with the Super Glow, my skin looked so plump and radiant.

Maybe after years of wearing products on my lip, I cannot go long without reapplying something. So I will always keep some form of hydration for my lips handy. The Coconut Balm Dotcom does that and much much more the directions suggest "Use on Lips, on cuticles, on elbows, on your friends....anywhere that needs some love." This means I can have one good product for multiple uses. That alone saves space in my bag and that's ALWAYS a plus.

All in all I'm very happy that not only I ran across Glossier on Instagram, but that I had the chance to stop by the Showroom. The friendly staff, the aesthetic atmosphere and the amazing products get a gold star in my book.
