How we traveled to NYC with $500

I am still in a New York State of mind, my gosh the rushh, the thrills, the pictures....were you watching ? Well, I sure hope so, because if not I'm going to need for you to pause........go back about a week ago and catch up !

....... Are you caught up ? Okay let's goo.... I have been really humbled lately, I really love where I am in life right now. It doesn't run as picture perfect as I post it too be.... Hiccups happen, plans change, and things evolve... the best wayy to plan for a successful outcome is to plan ahead for it. Lately my boyfriend & I have been planning out a few places that we'd like to go visit within the next five years. Seriously you guys, the world is sooo big, and it blows my mind when my clients tell me they haven't driven beyond the boundaries of our state, let alone left our country. I'll be completely transparent; I have traveled twice under this budget formula and both times I have stayed on the right track. This time around, even having enough to do a special Birthday adventure (coming soon :)

The method we use is pretty basic; meaning that it may differ case by case but if you can find your flow with this formula I'm confident you'll find yourself traveling more often.

PLAN IN ADVANCE

Although adventures on a whim can be exhilarating , they can come at a price, literally. You might be missing out on some good deals, when you don't take the time to do your research. Plan trips at least 6 months in advance. Location, dates, activities, accommodations. This is when I would suggest the proper use of credit cards. The entire trip did not cost us $500. Tickets and accommodations where paid off little by little until it was time for our trip. FIND PACKAGES

If you haven't used of even heard of Groupon , CityPass, or Smart Destinations , then you must be living under a rock. These are my favorite places to look when I'm planning a trip.

Ex. Smart Destination had a pass $85 for 3 activities. With over 60 activities to chose from all ranging from $30-$60 alone, they tend to show priority when booking too.

SPLIT THE COST

If you're a lone traveler, I salute cha. I've done it, here's a link . But if you get to travel with an awesome buddy, go over things that you all can split. Most time this means you can stay somewhere nicer and convenient. Another way to split the cost; If you add each day up, calculate what you might spend, and when. You'll get a better picture of how much the end total will be out and what go save for.

THERE'S YOUR TOTAL.

If you think about it, it would have to be a bright lucky day for you to get away with doing a trip on the whim and enjoying it ! You would definitely make out better by getting the big ticket items out of the way and using that chunk of change, that you save up for the trip, for any and all other chaos that might arise.
