Not So Basic . . .
Hello there beautiful people,
I love a moment in time where I find myself at my desk, drumming my fingers on the keyboard as I clear my mind and bounce back with a clean slate. My blog started off as a hobby, and as it has moved along I have found that I loveeee it when it comes to me naturally, and I want to sit down and connect with you all. I have had a hectic couple of weeks, and as we speak I am beginning the pre-vacation whine down a little too early.
Next week my hunnys' and I will be doing some Continental traveling, and I will be trying fun new ways to capture those moments to share with you all.
If you're up to date, then you've seen that the Tampa Fashion Show was the highlight of last weekend. If you missed it, CLICK HERE. It was an amazing show, and the fashion was sooo on point, and with my upcoming travels I was soooo inspired to try new looks. Even a few weeks before,
I had been searching and I showed you guys three potential looks for the show. But when I started off ,I was searching for something super trendy, yet fashion forward, but timeless....... hmm whattt ? (Insert confused face here) so I thought let me check local boutiques and then I stumbled upon something BETTER !
Not So Basic Boutique, is a online shop created by the Lovely Michele Rodriguez and when I first found NSBB Instagram page I had no idea she was local as well. So not only could I offer my Bay Area girls a local based boutique but also offer my National and International readers a platform for them to shop at as well !

The KI-MO-NO was sooooooo dope. I will be honest, when shooting for this look the dress was too revealing for my likes, but then I had the idea of pairing it with a lace dress slip. That way the lace would pop out like a peek-a-boo piece, rather than my goodies. I also played up the geisha look with super cute fanned out clutch. This purse has soo many names, but the look it gave went perfectly with my dress. PLUS, I really wanted it :D
I have been swooning over all the fall looks that I have also seen strut the run ways of New York and Paris.
NOT SO BASIC INTERVIEW QUESTIONS, A CHAT WITH THE CEO GIRLBOSS
1. We all have that "ah-ha," moment, where inspiration hits us. When do you feel that came to you for NSBB ?
The moment came to me when I was shopping for a hot but suitable outfit for a birthday dinner. I went to each mall and boutique here in Tampa and found NOTHING! I would end up having to get an outfit online from Asos.
I was pissed, annoyed, all the emotions you could think of! (insert laugh)
So I said to myself, I should open a store for those women (because I know there are plenty of us!) that would want clothing that is HOT, makes us feel sexy but also wont have our butt hanging out at a babyshower and Not So Basic boutique was born.
2. Now when I think boutique, I think couture, fashion that is ahead of the curve. What fall accent pieces are you adding to our wardrobe ?
My online store is targeted toward pieces that are fashion forward but also ones that you can wear throughout the year (because you know, FL weather is the same all year round). This fall the focus is towards statement items to add to your closet.
This fall season were going to see bright and pastel colors, bling bling on shoes and FUR FUR FUR.
But press the breaks because remember, we live in a HOT state (laugh). At Not so Basic Boutique, you’re going to see statement pieces that go towards the bright and pastel color range , statement pieces that will show a hint of the Victorian Era trend as well, and items that can be worn in our fall and winter months.
