5 ways on how to avoid stretch marks

There isn’t a definitive answer on how to avoid stretch marks when your baby growing.

However, having a baseline knowledge of skin, I can only conclude that like the desert floor, stretching and cracking in the absence of hydration, must be the same as to why our skin behaves as such.

The skin will stretch as your baby grows. If we haven’t primed it to go the extra mile we cant expect it to survive to tell the tale.

During my pregnancy, while on one of my deep dives into YouTube University, I was trying to narrow down the ingredients that were going to get the job done, and weed out brands that landed on my feed because of the algorithm.

5 products that HELPED MY SKIN AVOID STRETCH MARKS

Apply this post shower, while the skin is still somewhat damp, to seal in that moisture.

Hyaluronic Acid

Restores hydration

and softness to

dry, depleted skin.

Cica Extract

Softens the look

of scars and stretch marks.

Argan Oil

Quenches

dehydrated skin for a softer feel.

Apply almond oil at night.

Almond oil is rich in vitamin E
  • Stops skin from losing moisture.

  • Protects cells from damage and helps with renewal

  • Softens skin.

  • Peppermint body scrubs

Used once a week

Using Peppermint essential oil helps deep clean your skin and breakup dead skin cells, while reducing inflammation and promoting healing (Source; Posted June 28, 2023 in Skin Care by Rocky Mountain Oils)

  • Collagen milk in my bath water

Used once a week

This Milk contains five elements that our skin loves;

proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and lactic acids. Protein and fats help soften the skin, whilst vitamins and minerals help protect the skin and keep It safe from damage. The lactic acid acts as a gentle exfoliate and stimulates collagen.

  • Dry brush

Used twice a week (or when I remembered)

Done before the shower to remove dead skin and improve the skin’s ability to eliminate toxins through the pores. The coarse fibers will help to allow for deeper absorption of hydration and improve circulation.

If you did or heard something different please, drop it in the comments down below. Information is constantly changing and improving, so passing it on to the next mama will breed a new culture of embracing the maternity journey.

Til the next post xx
