Back when I was doing some mood boarding for my wedding I had come across pampas fans in Lou of bouquets.
I had never seen them before, but they were absolutely stunning to me!
I did not end up going with it as a Bouquet, but flash forward, I was feeling the urge to fill the space of our room with some Boho Decour.
I had Budgeted well for the nursery, and now that it was time to decorate our side of the room, I really wanted to be as savvy, but I wasnt having any luck during my thrifting hunt.
The pampas fan wasn't top of mind, but it was still on my Pinterest board, and when I came across it again, there were similar

posts. One in particular, was a DIY on how to make it.
It was a quick video, and I knew that I could re-create this !
Every single one of my material pieces came from Shein, except for the hot glue and gun used to bind it all together.
Even the Halfmoon cardboard box was one of the flaps to the shipping box, it came in ...talk about re-purposing!
Materials:
Cardboard
Hot glue + gun
= $10
Time:
30 mins to complete
How to:
Cut one or two cardboard piece into a half moon size that sits back from the edge of the placemat.
Organize the grass in the shape of the half moon. My grass was a variety pack, so I organized it every other.
Cut pieces in staggering lengths, to give it height and depth within the design and really make it fluff.
Once you find a placement that you like hot glue the pieces down to the card board.
If you went with one piece of cardboard, now glue a half moon shape, the opposite side of the placemat and sandwich together.
Repeat the same steps if you did a second piece of cardboard. The difference is you get a firmer structure. Think hard shell taco vs tortilla soft taco.
I went with one and, I didn't mind how it looked ! :)
Now how you hang it is completely up to you. I had "command" hooks from the dollar tree and I made a little hole in the back of the place mat and hung it.
But you could also nail or Velcro it in place.
I hope you enjoyed this quick DIY & boho chic DIY.
See on the next post xx
