First and foremost Photos to me were the be-all and end-all of my wedding keepsakes. Because of this belief, we decided that investing in our photographer was a priority in our Wedding Budget.

However, the truth is that there will come a day were your memory will not be as sharp as it was, details will begin to blur together and worse, slip away completely.

Sorry for the dramatics early on in the post but the question is not if, but when that day comes, how will your photos tell the story, if they were simply an illustration rather then the story book itself?

Along the way of my wedding "how to" journey I came across a series of "what to keepsake from your wedding day," and it was then that I found the Savor Wedding Edition Keepsake Box.

It was right up my alley, in the way that it compartmentalizes your whole event, from start to finish and everything in between <3

In my Savor box I saved little relics of our history, that would be kept for future generations to enjoy.

Wedding Accessories

Hair comb, jewelry, handkerchief , ring box, ect.... I mean if I can stuff it, then I love it.

(Hah I made that up and I am not mad at it)

We kept items that my husband, my son and myself used or wore that day.

The size of the four compartments allowed me to hold on to these keepsakes, in a safe place while giving me the freedom of saving any, and all accessories type.

Preserves wedding Flowers

There are many ways of preserving the petals and flowers of your special day.

Mine were faux which allows me to keep them much longer. Something that I can bank on using either for future use like my son's wedding or for crafting purposes.

However, our cake topper was made of real flowers, so I hung a rose bud upside down and this made it dry up right.

Also, a little hairspray wont hurt. I actually preserved my Quince bouquet and Prom corsage the same way, and I still have them !

Paper goods

Invites, letters, vows, speeches, signatures, notes, cards.

You name it, you can save it. ( I am on a roll )

Personally; we had put in place a paper/contact less wedding style, because of the climate that Covid-19 imposed during our wedding season. Therefor, things like our registry routed your gifts to our house or to our bank account. And, same went for our invites, straight into the invitee's inbox.

However, we all have that elderly guest, or tech challenged aunt that comes along and they either insist on giving gifts or receiving something tangible for their own keepsake.

You will thank them the most, because I now do !

I had made an exclusive number of physical invites to our ceremony, to please those guests, and the invites outlined all the details of time and location that, one day will fade into my memory but, I am happy to have that now.

Pro tip: I did however, do the same thing with the E-invites by screenshotting the announcements and having them printed. So I got the best of both worlds as that became an after thought.

Wedding Favors

Our favors became almost a full series of collectable items for our guest to attain while they enjoyed every bit of our wedding night. We had burgundy koozies to go with my Husbands beer of choice (we did a his and hers drink menu,) and that was a checkpoint; to make it to the bar.

Then was magnetic strips that our guest could put their photo strip into. Checkpoint; Photobooth ! Which could ONLY be found in my Navy gem bags (on theme with fairy tales, and I love crystals) which could be used as their own keepsake pouch, of the nights festivities.

Bonus keepsake was a light up ring, baton, or shutter glasses that were passed out at the Hora Loca.

Checkpoint; you partied to the end!

Something special to you !

The rose quartz that were left out over the dessert table is an important element to me on our wedding day. Rose quartz purifies and opens the heart at all levels to promote love, self-love, friendship, deep inner healing and feelings of peace. So I wanted it to soak up and emanate that over our guest while they expressed joy over sweets. That is close to the purest of all loves in my opinion <3

And with keeping them, I believe I am keeping the loving energy of that night.

What would or have you savored from your wedding day ?
