What do I need during my pregnancy ?

It is true the days are long but the months are short, during pregnancy. However, it doesn't discount that it is still a long journey to begin with ! So, with every trimester loaded with its own set of challenges, what do you need to feel prepared ?

I love comfort and convenience so I did a few deep dives into some youtube videos and some blog post (welcome to mine.) Listed below are some things that became a part of my personal collection, and that helped to make my pregnancy worth talking about :D

🤰 First trimester

Nausea should have been my first sign of pregnancy but I was confusing it for low blood sugar. Never the less when I figured out what was going on I needed to take my mornings slow and this was a great thing to get me started on the right track.

How to use: room temp Water, and ice mixed with your dosage will help to fuel you with the good stuff.

It wasnt the most delicious thing but pros outweigh the cons on this one. So chug it, take it to the head and just get your day started mama.

  • Peppermint oil

Essential oils is a simple but effective way to get your balance back. Why did I use it? Nausea was just not it, especially when life has been operating at a certain frequency, long before pregnancy, this is one way I regained control.

How to use: A couple of dabs under your nose or worn within a necklace or septum ring,

are just a few examples on how to function on the goo!

This book is amazing, for your entire pregnancy yes, but of course the first trimester is a great place to start.

How to use: based on the development and stage of you and your baby, It is informative with week by week foods to eat, it includes yummy recipes which removes the guessing of how to incorporate the item, into your meal planning that week.

The beginning of your pregnancy is the most crucial part of your entire journey. Knowing exactly what the right nutrients are, can bring you so much peace in combating some of the hurdles that happen, during milestones of your pregnancy.

🤰 Second trimester

Truth is, I bought this way in advance and saw that at the tender stage of 3 months, I just didn't find the use. But boy was I happy to own it by the time I needed it !

How to use; This small design travels well, and supports all the right places. Adjust via velcro to your growing size and snuggle in.

"Comfortable bump, hips & back support." One downside, at the time of this writting, it does not come with a cover so keeping it clean was a challenge.

(If this post becomes dated and a cover has been made, someone please update me ! ;)

These are neat if you're still able to wear your pre pregnancy clothing yet, still want that extra layer of modesty. You will want this handy for the day you pop out of your shirt (Because I promise it is one day to the next.)

How to use: slip on, slip off. That easy. Pick the color that matches best and you'll see and feel the difference. It is super handy when your belly button turns inside out too and it poking through your clothing

I have a separate wardrobe for my work, as a stylist, and these bands were great to conceal me while in operation at the salon.

I have been a loyal user well before pregnancy and I leaned in more when I became pregnant! I love the tummy control, pre and postpartum, and the shorts combo, great for dresses and 2 pc outfits.

pro tip ; buy the maternity, or original pieces off of Poshmark. They are used for such a short period of time that personally, it wasn't worth it to pay full price.

hey and you can keep the trend going; reposh it when youre done!

🤰 Third trimester

  • Support wear

I was working in the salon 6-11 hr shifts and I could feel the difference when I didn't wear my support.

Compression stockings come in both socks and calf length sleeves. This gave me flexibility to still wear sandals in the dead of summer, but I did shift to long pants. (You win some, you lose some)

I got the "spins" and spider veins in the middle of my pregnancy and adding these to my wardrobe were not only ultra sexy (please feel my sarcasm) but ultra functional for days at work.

I did mention, comfort is what I side with but sexy, its a state of mind mama

My Victoria Secret underwear was disappearing through where the sun don't shine and I couldn't get behind buying a larger size knowing, hoping, that I wasn't going to fit them anymore postpartum.

I had watched a Youtube video on Desi Perkins maternity recommendation and learned about this brand.

I now own multiple pairs with no regrets, just comfort.

They come in under belly designs as well, but in comparison to the belly band, wearing this option is a 2-in-1.

Keep your eye out for a continued series on things you need within your maternity season.

Til the next post xx
